CONCORD, N.C. (April 23, 2025) – Daniel Wilkerson and the SCAG Power Equipment Ford Mustang Funny Car team enter this weekend’s American Rebel Light NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway poised for victory.
Fresh off strong team performances at the NHRA Winternationals, where Wilkerson finished runner-up, and the Las Vegas Four-Wide Nationals, where all three SCAG Racing nitro cars advanced past the first quad, Wilkerson and his Summit Racing Equipment-backed SCAG Mustang are primed for a shot at his first victory in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series.
“With all our nitro cars getting out of first round at Vegas, we’re all excited for Charlotte,” Wilkerson said. “Our whole team is clicking, but this Summit Racing Equipment Jackal Mustang is hungry for a win, and I don’t see any reason why we can’t get one in Charlotte.”
In 2024, zMAX Dragway was the site of Wilkerson’s first career runner-up finish. Qualified 10th Wilkerson narrowly missed his first win falling short only to former world champion Matt Hagan in the final quad.
With the four-wide format, Wilkerson will be joined by his teammates Justin Ashley and Dave Richards as they compete in the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge Saturday during qualifying. Wilkerson will also get an extra look at the track when he drives one of four campers during the Camping World RV race ahead of Saturday’s qualifying.
“I get an extra crack at the tree in the RV race before the third qualifying session Saturday morning,” Wilkerson said. “So, I should have a one up on everyone!”
The American Rebel Light NHRA 4-Wide Nationals kicks off with qualifying rounds on Friday at 5:15 and 7:45 p.m. and Saturday at 12:30 and 3:00 p.m., followed by eliminations on Sunday at noon. Fans can catch the action on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) Saturday at 10:00 p.m. ET and Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET with eliminations Sunday at 7:00 p.m. ET and on the NHRA.TV streaming platform.
